President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has charged delegates of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to elect Parliamentary candidates in a serene manner.
The President said in his speech at the party’s National Annual Delegates Conference at the Ghana International Trade Fair, La, Accra Sunday December 22.
The NPP will elect Parliamentary candidates at the constituencies where they have sitting members of Parliament in April 2020.
“In April, we are going to select members of Parliament for the constituencies where we have incumbent MPs”.
“It is extremely important that this process goes on in a sensible, peaceful and serene manner”.
“The whole country will be looking at us, we are the party in government”, The President said.
He added that,” We shouldn’t go and do this exercise with a lot of backbiting and fighting unnecessarily. It is the victory of the party that matters and not the victory of any individual”.
“Without the victory of the party, we wouldn’t be sitting here as we are sitting here today.
I want all of us to bear that in mind. The party is bigger than each and every single one of us including myself”, he stressed.
