ODAUMAN MOURN RIVER OBAATANPA NANA KWANEAKWA’S DAUGHTER ORACLE MUDFISH DEATH IN ETWERESO

Over the decades’ the river Kwaneakwa Oracle deity mudfishes at Etwereso in Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region performed signs, and wonders and were believed provides protection to Odauman.
River Kwaneakwa in Etwereso believes to be a woman Oracle Mudfishes protects Odauman one of its mudfish killed by Kwaku Anokye to prepare pepper soup.
Kwaku Anokye who hails from Adanse Subriso secretly went into the Oracle river Kwaneakwa and killed one of the historic Mudfish in Kwaneakwa River for his personal reasons.
The beautiful catfish tourist site in the Akyem Otwereso township has it that, the catfish were used to prepare food with some herbs that were given to the enemies who fought the town by the women of the town through luring and that killed the enemies till the people of Otwereso became victorious.
Apart from that, it is believed that women looking for the fruit of the womb or barred who fetch water from the pond become successful when a fish jump into their container.
These women will prepare food with the fish and eat it as it is believed to be a gift from the gods.
After his reckless action, he was miraculously led by the river to the Etwereso community, chief palace with the fish in his hands to confess what he did.
To prevent Kwaku Anokye and his family from the consequences which may have followed his actions, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe (Odauhene/Otweresohene) and his elders invited his family to Odauman Chief Palace poured libation and performed the necessary rites as tradition and customs demand.
Odauman organized funeral rites and mourn the Oracle Mudfish cleansing the omen that befall on Etwereso Community and Kwaku Anokye and his family and descendants.
Daasebre Kwabi Ofosu Ayebiahwe Odaumanhene, Nana Mireku Tumi, Baamuhene, sub-chiefs, elders, and the community performed necessary rites to purify the community to avoid calamities to fall.
Etwereso Community mourns for three days to show a sign of forgiveness from the gods to continue to bless and protect Odauman.
